Don't you love when you see something you want, and then think...uhm, I could totally make that! ...and then you do!
At a Holiday Cookie party, hosted by a crafty friend, we were offered the opportunity to make Christmas ornaments. There were a variety of supplies and magazine photos for inspiration. I instantly fell in love with these little guys from a Crate and Barrel catalog and dove in to try and make one for myself.
I've never done any embroidery and was a bit confused by the process, but luckily a friend was able to teach me a simple blanket stitch. At the beginning of the process, I was convinced I would be making these as gifts for people, and when the little guy was finished 2 hours later...I decided that he might just be an only child and live with me.
He does wish he had some friends, but so far is pretty happy as an only owl.
